BANDWIDTH UPGRADE

Following our upgrade in August 2000 to two fibre connections we are now the best-connected web hosting company in the UK. This upgrade makes up to 155 Mbit’s of Internet bandwidth available and is provided by BT, UUNet and Telewest.

Even our closest competitors are only running multi-homed connections totalling up to 14 Mb of bandwidth.

FTP SERVICE UPDATED

We have taken steps in order to dramatically improve the speed of our File Transfer Protocol service. This is used when you upload files to domain names hosted with Netwise. Our new FTP service uses advanced network load balancing technology meaning that requests to upload files to your account are handled by several different servers on our network, rather than just one server. This results in much improved speed when uploading files, as well as increased fault tolerance for the FTP service. The upgraded FTP service was introduced in August 2000. You will not need to make any changes to your settings in order to use the new service.
